باب فى وعيد من تعلم علما فكتمه أو لم يعمل به أو تعلم لغير الله
Chapter on the warning for one who learns knowledge and conceals it, or does not act upon it, or learns for other than Allah
Hadith Number: 278
عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((من تعلم علما مما يبتغى به وجه الله لا يتعلمه إلا ليصيب به عرضا من الدنيا لم يجد عرف الجنة يوم القيامة)) يعني ريحها
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The knowledge through which the Face of Allah Almighty is sought—whoever learns it to acquire worldly goods, he will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection."
