Hadith Number: 2826
عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال: قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم المدينة ولهم يومان يلعبون فيهما في الجاهلية فقال: ((إن الله تبارك وتعالى قد ابدلكم بهما خيرا منهما يوم الفطر ويوم النحر))
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, the people of Madinah had two days on which they used to play from the time of ignorance. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has given you better days in place of those two days—one is the day of Eid al-Fitr and the other is the day of Eid al-Adha.
