Hashraj bin Ziyad Ashja'i narrates from his grandmother, she says: I went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in the Battle of Khaybar, while I was the sixth among six women. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, found out that women were also going with him, he called us. We felt that there were signs of anger on the face of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Then he said: Who brought you out and by whose order did you come out? We said: We came out ourselves, so that we could hand arrows to the fighters, give sattu (barley drink) to the people. Some of us women can also treat the wounded and braid hair to help in the way of Allah. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Get up and go back. When Allah Almighty granted victory over Khaybar to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he gave us a share just like the men. I, Hashraj, said: O grandmother!
