Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding Honoring, Feeding, and Training Horses, and the Dislike of Cutting Their Long Hair
Hadith Number: 5200
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd Salma (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cutting the hair of a horse’s neck, tail, and forehead, and said: The tails of horses drive away (flies and the like), the hair of the neck protects them from the cold, and as for the foreheads—how excellent they are, for Allah Almighty has attached goodness to them until the Day of Resurrection.
