Chapter on Kindness to the Slaughtered Animal, Dispatching It Quickly, the Limit of the Knife, and Avoiding Slaughtering Pregnant or Nursing Animals
Hadith Number: 7603
عن سالم بن عبد الله عن ابيه رضي الله عنهما ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم امر بحد الشفار وان توارى عن البهائم وإذا ذبح احدكم فليجهز
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the knife be sharpened and kept hidden from the animals, and also said that when any of you slaughters an animal, he should do so quickly.
