Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Obligation to Seek Treatment and That for Every Disease There Is a Cure
Hadith Number: 7626
عن عطاء بن السائب قال اتيت ابا عبد الرحمن فإذا هو يكوي غلاما قال قلت تكويه قال نعم هو دواء العرب قال عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم إن الله عز وجل لم ينزل داء إلا وقد انزل معه دواء جهله منكم من جهله وعلمه منكم من علمه
‘Ata bin Sa’ib narrates that I came to ‘Abd al-Rahman, and he was branding a slave. I said: Do you brand him? He said: Yes, this is the Arabs’ method of treatment. It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has not created any disease except that He has also sent down its cure. Whoever among you is ignorant of it, is ignorant of it, and whoever has come to know it, has come to know it.
