Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Permissibility of Cauterization and the Prophet’s Dislike of It
Hadith Number: 7659
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we went to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit him due to his foot ailment. We sought permission from him to apply cauterization. In response, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. We asked again, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. When we asked for the third time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you wish, then apply a hot stone. It was as if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was angry.
