Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Permissibility of Cauterization and the Prophet’s Dislike of It
Hadith Number: 7662
(وعنه من طريق ثان) قال بعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم إلى ابي بن كعب رضي الله عنه طبيبا فقطع له عرقا ثم كواه عليه وفي رواية فكواه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم بيده
. (Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent a healer to Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, who cut his vein and cauterized it. In one narration, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cauterized it with his own hand.
