Syedna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that my maternal uncle used to perform ruqyah (spiritual healing) for scorpion stings. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade ruqyah, he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! You have forbidden ruqyah, but I perform ruqyah for scorpion stings. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you can benefit his brother, let him do so.
