Chapter on the Prohibition of Playing with Animals
Hadith Number: 7880
عن عكرمة قال مر ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما على اناس قد وضعوا حمامة يرمونها فقال نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ان يتخذ ذو الروح غرضا
Ikrimah says: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed by some people who had tied a pigeon in front of them and were shooting arrows at it. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making any living being with a soul a target.
