Chapter on What Has Been Reported Generally Regarding the Prohibition of Gold and Silk
Hadith Number: 8008
عن ابي ذر رضي الله عنه قال قام اعرابي إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فقال يا رسول الله اكلتنا الضبع يعني السنة قال غير ذلك اخوف لي عليكم الدنيا إذا صبت عليكم صبا فيا ليت امتي لا يلبسون وفي رواية لا يتحلون الذهب
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a Bedouin stood before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Drought has destroyed us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not fear this as much as I fear another thing even more, and that is that the world will pour upon you like rain. I wish my Ummah would not wear gold.
