Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Recommended, Permissible, and Forbidden Length of Garments
Hadith Number: 8116
عن انس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم الإزار إلى نصف الساق فلما راى شدة ذلك على المسلمين قال إلى الكعبين لا خير فيما اسفل من ذلك
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The lower garment is up to the middle of the shin. But when he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that this command was difficult for the Muslims, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It can be let down to the ankles, but there is no good in letting it go below that.
