Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding Trimming the Nails, Shaving the Pubic Hair, and Cleaning the Armpits
Hadith Number: 8218
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم انه قيل له يا رسول الله لقد ابطا عنك جبريل عليه السلام فقال ولم لا يبطئ عني وانتم حولي لا تستنون ولا تقلمون اظفاركم ولا تقصون شواربكم ولا تنقون رواجبكم
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that someone said to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Jibreel (peace be upon him) has delayed in meeting you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Why should he not delay, when you are around me—you neither use the miswak, nor trim your nails, nor cut your moustaches, nor wash the joints of your fingers properly.
