Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty created the creation, the bond of kinship stood holding onto Allah’s waist and said: This is the place of one who seeks refuge from severing ties of kinship. Allah said: Yes. Are you not pleased that I will join the one who joins you, and I will cut off the one who cuts you off? If you wish, recite this verse of the Qur’an:“And it is not beyond you that if you are given authority, you will cause corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship. They are those upon whom is the curse of Allah, and He has made them deaf and blinded their sight. Do they not then reflect upon the Qur’an, or are there locks upon their hearts?”
