قوله تعالى: {إن مثل عيسى عند الله كمثل آدم خلقه من تراب ثم قال له كن فيكون * الحق من ربك فلا تكن من الممترين * فمن حاجك فيه من بعد ما جاءك من العلم فقل تعالوا ندع أبناءنا وأبناءكم ونساءنا ونساءكم وأنفسنا وأنفسكم ثم نبتهل فنجعل لعنت الله على الكاذبين}
His saying, Exalted is He: {Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was. * The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters. * Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you—say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us]."}
Hadith Number: 500
نا هشيم ، قال: نا مغيرة ، عن الشعبي ، قال: لما عرض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الملاعنة على اهل نجران، قبل ذلك منه السيد والعاقل، فرجعا إلى رجل منهم كان نجيبا , فقال لهما: ما صنعتما شيئا، والله لئن كان نبيا، لا يعصيه الله فيكم، وإن كان ملكا، فقالا له: ما ترى؟، قال: ارى ان تغدوا، فإنه يغدو لميعادكما، فإذا غدا عليكما، فإنه سيعرض عليكما الملاعنة، فإذا عرض ذلك عليكما، فقولا له: نعوذ بالله، واغدوا، وغدا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اخذ بيد حسن، وحسين يتبعه، وفاطمة تمشي من خلفه، فقال لهما:" هل لكما في الامر الذي انطلقتما عليه من الملاعنة؟" , فقالا: نعوذ بالله، قال: فردد ذلك عليهما، فقالا: نعوذ بالله، مرتين، او ثلاثا، فقال لهما:" هل لكما في الإسلام ان تسلما ويكون لكما ما للمسلمين وعليكما ما على المسلمين؟" , فلم يقبلا ذلك وكرهاه، فقال لهما:" هل لكما في الجزية تؤديانها، وانتم صاغرون كما قال الله عز وجل؟" , فقبلا ذلك، وقالا: لا طاقة لنا بحرب العرب .
When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to engage in Mubahala with the people of Najran, their chiefs, Sayyid and Aqib, decided to consult a pious man. They went to a pious man, who said to them: "If he is a Prophet, Allah will not turn away his word, and if he is a king, he will prevail over you." Then that pious man said: "I advise you to go and meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and when he proposes Mubahala, seek refuge with Allah." After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them with his grandsons Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and his daughter Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and said: "Should I offer you to accept Islam instead of engaging in Mubahala over this matter?" But they refused and said that they did not have the strength to confront this matter. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to them about paying Jizya, and they agreed to it, because they did not have the ability to fight the Arabs.
