Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam - Command for the imam to shorten the prayer for those with difficulties
Hadith Number: 2136
اخبرنا محمد بن الحسن بن قتيبة ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرنا يونس ، عن ابن شهاب ، قال: اخبرني ابو سلمة ، انه سمع ابا هريرة ، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إذا صلى احدكم بالناس فليخفف، فإن في الناس الضعيف، والسقيم، وذا الحاجة" .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "When someone leads people in prayer, he should make it short, because among the people are the weak, the sick, and those who have work to do."
