Section on voluntary prayers – mentioning a phrase that misled a scholar into thinking it was authentic and preserved
Hadith Number: 2485
اخبرنا الحسين بن إسحاق الاصفهاني ، بالكرج، حدثنا عبد الله بن سعيد الكندي ، حدثنا ابن إدريس ، عن سهيل بن ابي صالح ، عن ابيه ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " من كان منكم مصليا بعد الجمعة فليصل اربعا، فإن كان له شغل فركعتين في المسجد، وركعتين في البيت" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever among you wishes to perform prayer after Jumu'ah should perform four rak'ahs. If he is occupied with something, then he should perform two rak'ahs in the mosque and two rak'ahs at home."
