فصل في قيام الليل - ذكر نفي الغفلة عمن قام الليل بعشر آيات مع كتبة من قام بمائة آية من القانتين ومن قامها بألف من المقنطرين
Section on night prayer – mentioning that one who stands at night with ten verses is not heedless, with a hundred is among the devout, and with a thousand is among the greatly rewarded
Hadith Number: 2572
اخبرنا ابن سلم ، حدثنا حرملة ، حدثنا ابن وهب ، اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، ان ابا سويد ، حدثه، انه سمع ابن حجيرة يخبر، عن عبد الله بن عمرو ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انه قال: " من قام بعشر آيات لم يكتب من الغافلين، ومن قام بمائة آية كتب من القانتين، ومن قام بالف آية كتب من المقنطرين" ، قال ابو حاتم: ابو سويد اسمه حميد بن سويد من اهل مصر، وقد وهم من قال: ابو سوية.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever recites ten verses in voluntary prayers is not counted among the heedless; whoever recites one hundred verses in voluntary prayers is counted among the devout; and whoever recites one thousand verses is counted among those who are given heaps of reward." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Suwaid is Hamid bin Suwaid, and he is from Egypt. The person who mentioned his name as Abu Suwayyah was mistaken.
