Section on Night Prayer - Mention of how a person should pray at night and perform witr at the end
Hadith Number: 2620
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا بشر بن الحكم ، قال: حدثنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن سالم ، وعبد الله بن دينار ، وعمرو بن دينار ، عن طاوس ، وابن ابي لبيد ، عن ابي سلمة ، كلهم عن ابن عمر ، قال: سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: كيف تامرنا ان نصلي بالليل؟ قال: " يصلي احدكم مثنى مثنى، فإذا خشي الصبح اوتر بركعة" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, "What do you command us regarding how we should perform prayer at night?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should perform the prayer two by two. When you fear that dawn is near, then perform one rak'ah as witr."
