Section on Women’s Travel - A fifth narration indicating that the prohibition with this number does not permit less than that
Hadith Number: 2727
اخبرنا احمد بن علي بن المثنى ، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن الحجاج السامي ، قال: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، عن سهيل بن ابي صالح، عن سعيد بن ابي سعيد ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " لا تسافر المراة بريدا إلا مع ذي محرم" ، قال ابو حاتم: سمع هذا الخبر سهيل بن ابي صالح ، عن ابيه ، عن ابي هريرة ، وسمعه من سعيد المقبري، عن ابي هريرة، فالطريقان جميعا محفوظان.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No woman should travel even the distance of a barid without a mahram." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Suhail bin Abi Salih heard this hadith from his father on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, and he also heard this narration from Sa'id Maqburi on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him. So both of its chains are preserved.
