Lady Umm ‘Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Wash her with water and lotus leaves three times, or five times, or, if you think appropriate, more than that, and add some camphor at the end. When you finish, inform me.”We informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he gave us his sheet and said:“Wrap her body in this.”The narrator named Ayyub reported this. The female narrator named Hafsah added these words:“Wash her three times, or five times, or seven times, and make her hair into three braids.”
