Section on the state of the dead in the grave – Description of some punishment the disbeliever faces in the grave
Hadith Number: 3121
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا ابو خيثمة ، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد ، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن ابي ايوب ، قال: سمعت دراجا ابا السمح ، يقول: سمعت ابا الهيثم ، يقول: سمعت ابا سعيد الخدري ، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يسلط على الكافر في قبره تسعة وتسعون تنينا تنهشه وتلدغه، حتى تقوم الساعة، فلو ان تنينا منها نفخت في الارض ما انبتت خضرا" .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Ninety-nine serpents are set upon the disbeliever in his grave, which tear him apart and bite him, and this continues until the Day of Resurrection. If even one of those serpents were to blow upon the earth, the earth would never produce vegetation.”
