Muawiyah bin Qurrah Muzani narrates from his father: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed his blessed hand over his head. He narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Fasting three days in every month is equivalent to fasting and breaking the fast for the whole month (here, the narrator may have misunderstood a word). (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): Waki’ has narrated from Shu’bah in this narration the words“and not fasting it,”while Yahya Qattan has narrated from Shu’bah:“standing in prayer for it,”and both of these individuals are reliable and precise.
