- ذكر استعمال المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم الحيس عند تزويجه صفية
The Prophet (peace be upon him) serving hais at his marriage to Safiyyah
Hadith Number: 4063
اخبرنا الفضل بن الحباب ، قال: حدثنا عمران بن ميسرة ، قال: حدثنا عبد الوارث بن سعيد ، عن شعيب بن الحبحاب ، عن انس بن مالك ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اعتق صفية، وجعل عتقها صداقها، واولم عليها بحيس" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) freed Lady Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) and made her freedom her dowry. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held a wedding feast (walimah) for her with a dish of hais.
