باب النفقة - ذكر الخبر الدال على أن نفقة المرء على نفسه وعياله عند عدم اليسار أفضل من صدقة التطوع-

Hadith Number: 4234
اخبرنا محمد بن الحسن بن خليل ، قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم ، قال: حدثنا بشر بن بكر ، قال: حدثنا الاوزاعي ، قال: حدثني عطاء بن ابي رباح ، قال: حدثني جابر بن عبد الله ، ان رجلا من اصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اعتق عبدا له من بعده ولم يكن له مال غيره، فامر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فباعه، وقال: " انت احق بثمنه والله عنه غني" .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made a bequest to free his slave after his death. That companion had no wealth other than that slave, so under the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), they sold that slave. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You have more right to his price, and Allah is free of need from this.
