Hadith Number: 53
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the night I was taken on the Mi'raj, I saw some people whose lips were being cut with scissors of fire. I asked: O Jibreel! Who are these people? He replied: These are the preachers of your Ummah who used to enjoin good upon the people but forgot themselves, even though they used to recite the Book. Do they not have sense?" The Shaykh says: This narration has been transmitted by Abu 'Atab from Hisham, from Mughira, from Malik bin Dinar, from Thumama, from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), and he has made a mistake in it, because the narrator Yazid bin Zuray' is more "meticulous" than two hundred men like Abu 'Atab.
