Chapter on Cursing – Evidence that the curse was answered regarding her camel in the narration of Imran ibn Husayn
Hadith Number: 5743
Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, a slave girl was riding a camel on which people’s belongings were loaded. She was passing between two mountains, and the path through the mountain was narrow. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to that mountain. When the girl saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), she began to say,“Get up! O Allah, curse him! O Allah, curse him!”The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:“No mount upon which there is Allah’s curse will remain with us.”
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The command of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to abandon the mount upon which a curse was invoked contains a hidden ruling, which is the reason for it: that the supplication of the one who curses may be answered. So, when it is known that the supplication of the one who curses has been answered, then we will command him to abandon that mount. But due to the cessation of revelation, it is no longer possible to know this; therefore, it is not permissible for anyone to act upon this deed now.
