Chapter on Names and Nicknames – The reason the Prophet changed certain names
Hadith Number: 5824
اخبرنا احمد بن الحسن بن عبد الجبار ، قال: حدثنا داود بن عمرو الضبي ، قال: حدثنا حسان بن إبراهيم ، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن مسروق ، عن يوسف بن ابي بردة ، عن ابي بردة ، قال: اتيت عائشة ، فقلت: يا اماه، حدثيني بشيء سمعتيه من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الطير يجري بقدر، وكان يعجبه الفال الحسن" .
Abu Burdah narrates: I presented myself before Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: O mother, please relate to me a hadith which you heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). So Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Bad omens occur according to destiny. However, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) liked good omens.
