Ibn Jazaar narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) went to a woman who had tied an amulet around her neck. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) pulled it and cut it off. Then he said: The family of Abdullah has no need of anything that associates partners with Allah, as long as there is no evidence revealed about it. Then he mentioned: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, incantations, amulets, and tiwala are shirk (associating partners with Allah)." The people said: O Abu Abdur Rahman, we know about incantations and amulets, but what is this word tiwala? He said: It is something women do to gain the love of their husbands.
