Hadith Number: 6279
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to leave Makkah. When the situation worsened, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Be patient. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Do you expect that you will also be granted permission? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I hope so. Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) kept waiting for you, until one day the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) at the time of Zuhr. He called Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him: Send out those who are with you. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Only my two daughters are here. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you know that I have been granted permission to depart (migrate)? Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will I be with you? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will accompany me. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have two camels. I have prepared them for departure. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) gave one of the two camels to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was called Jad‘a. Both of them rode on it and came to a cave, which was in the mountain called Thawr. Both of them hid in it. ‘Amir bin Fuhayrah, the slave of Abdullah bin Tufail, who was the brother of Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) from her mother’s side and was under the favor of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), so none of the shepherds could suspect anything about this. He would go to them in the morning, come to Makkah in the evening, and then come to them again in the last part of the night. When both of them departed from there, he also walked quickly with them, until they all reached Madinah Munawwarah.
