Hadith Number: 6616
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The passing of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) occurred on the day that was specifically my turn, between my chest and neck. Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He had a fresh miswak with him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) looked towards him, and I realized that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) felt the need for a miswak. I took it, chewed it, softened it, and made it good, then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used the miswak in an excellent manner. Then he tried to get up but fell down. I began to supplicate to Allah the prayer that Sayyiduna Jibreel used to make during the illness of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), or that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself used to make. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) began to say: "Rather, (I seek) the Highest Companion in Paradise." He said this three times, then his breath stopped.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: All praise is due to Allah, who, on the last day of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) life in this world, united my saliva with the saliva of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
