Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much. Hypocrisy will become apparent. Trustworthiness will be taken away. Mercy will be seized. The trustworthy person will be accused, and the one who is not trustworthy will be made trustworthy, and the ignoble will be made to sit among you." They asked: "O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! What is meant by the ignoble?" The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Such tribulations as will be like pieces of a dark night."
