Issues of Funeral Prayer
Virtue of one whose three or two children die
Hadith Number: 240
94- مالك عن محمد بن ابى بكر بن محمد بن عمرو بن حزم عن ابيه عن ابى النضر السلمي ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”لا يموت لاحد من المسلمين ثلاثة من الولد فيحتسبهم إلا كانوا له جنة من النار.“ فقالت: امراة عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: يا رسول الله، او اثنان. قال: ”او اثنان.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Nadr al-Sami, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If any Muslim loses three children and remains patient, hoping for reward from Allah, then these children become a shield, that is, a barrier for him from Hell." A woman who was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Messenger of Allah! And if two (children die)?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "And if two (children die, they also become a shield from Hell)."
تخریج الحدیث: «94- الموطأ (رواية يحييٰ بن يحييٰ 235/1 ح 558، ك 16 ب 13 ح 39 وعنده ”عن ابي النضر“ وهوالصواب) التمهيد 86/13، 87، الاستذكار: 512، و أخرجه ابولقاسم الجوهري فى مسند الموطأ (245/262) من حديث مالك به، وللحديث شواهد عند البخاري (101) و مسلم (2633) وغيرهما والحديث بها صحيح»
