And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) that during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, there was a solar eclipse, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led the people in prayer. He stood for a long time, then bowed and made a long bowing, then stood again for a long time, and this standing was shorter than the first. Then he bowed and made a long bowing, and this bowing was less than the first. Then he raised his head from bowing and prostrated, then did the same in the second rak‘ah. When he finished with salam, the sun had become bright again. He addressed the people and, after praising and glorifying Allah, said:“The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of anyone’s death or life. If you see these signs, then supplicate to Allah, say takbir, and give charity.”Then he said: O community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! If any servant, male or female, of Allah commits adultery, then Allah is most possessive regarding it. O community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! By Allah! If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much.
