Chapter: What has been reported concerning the condiment of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
The Prophet liked even ordinary dates
Hadith Number: 151
حدثنا قتيبة قال: حدثنا ابو الاحوص، عن سماك بن حرب قال: سمعت النعمان بن بشير يقول: «الستم في طعام وشراب ما شئتم؟ لقد رايت نبيكم صلى الله عليه وسلم وما يجد من الدقل ما يملا بطنه»
Simak bin Harb (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: Are you not indulging in food and drink of your desire and choice? Whereas I saw your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he did not even have such inferior and low-quality dates with which he could fill his stomach.
