The Merits of Al-Ansar
باب هجرة الحبشة:
(37) Chapter. The emigration to Ethiopia.
Hadith Number: 3873
حدثني محمد بن المثنى، حدثنا يحيى، عن هشام، قال: حدثني ابي، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها:" ان ام حبيبة , وام سلمة ذكرتا كنيسة راينها بالحبشة فيها تصاوير فذكرتا للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال:" إن اولئك إذا كان فيهم الرجل الصالح فمات بنوا على قبره مسجدا , وصوروا فيه تيك الصور , اولئك شرار الخلق عند الله يوم القيامة".
Narrated `Aisha: Um Habiba and Um Salama mentioned a church they had seen in Ethiopia and in the church there were pictures. When they told the Prophet of this, he said, "Those people are such that if a pious man amongst them died, they build a place of worship over his grave and paint these pictures in it. Those people will be Allah's worst creatures on the Day of Resurrection . "

Hadith Number: 427
حدثنا محمد بن المثنى، قال: حدثنا يحيى، عن هشام، قال: اخبرني ابي، عن عائشة، ان ام حبيبة، وام سلمة ذكرتا كنيسة راينها بالحبشة فيها تصاوير، فذكرتا للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال:" إن اولئك إذا كان فيهم الرجل الصالح فمات، بنوا على قبره مسجدا وصوروا فيه تلك الصور، فاولئك شرار الخلق عند الله يوم القيامة".
Narrated `Aisha: Um Habiba and Um Salama mentioned about a church they had seen in Ethiopia in which there were pictures. They told the Prophet about it, on which he said, "If any religious man dies amongst those people they would build a place of worship at his grave and make these pictures in it. They will be the worst creature in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection."

Hadith Number: 434
حدثنا محمد بن سلام، قال: اخبرنا عبدة، عن هشام بن عروة، عن ابيه، عن عائشة، ان ام سلمة ذكرت لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كنيسة راتها بارض الحبشة يقال لها مارية، فذكرت له ما رات فيها من الصور، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" اولئك قوم إذا مات فيهم العبد الصالح او الرجل الصالح بنوا على قبره مسجدا وصوروا فيه تلك الصور، اولئك شرار الخلق عند الله".
Narrated `Aisha: Um Salama told Allah's Apostle about a church which she had seen in Ethiopia and which was called Mariya. She told him about the pictures which she had seen in it. Allah's Apostle said, "If any righteous pious man dies amongst them, they would build a place of worship at his grave and make these pictures in it; they are the worst creatures in the sight of Allah."

Hadith Number: 1341
حدثنا إسماعيل , قال: حدثني مالك، عن هشام، عن ابيه، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها , قالت:" لما اشتكى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ذكرت بعض نسائه كنيسة راينها بارض الحبشة , يقال لها: مارية، وكانت ام سلمة وام حبيبة رضي الله عنهما , اتتا ارض الحبشة فذكرتا من حسنها وتصاوير فيها، فرفع راسه , فقال: اولئك إذا مات منهم الرجل الصالح، بنوا على قبره مسجدا , ثم صوروا فيه تلك الصورة، اولئك شرار الخلق عند الله".
Narrated `Aisha: When the Prophet became ill, some of his wives talked about a church which they had seen in Ethiopia and it was called Mariya. Um Salma and Um Habiba had been to Ethiopia, and both of them narrated its (the Church's) beauty and the pictures it contained. The Prophet raised his head and said, "Those are the people who, whenever a pious man dies amongst them, make a place of worship at his grave and then they make those pictures in it. Those are the worst creatures in the Sight of Allah."
