The Book of Ad-Diyait (Blood - Money)
باب إثم من قتل ذميا بغير جرم:
Chapter. The sin of a person who killed an innocent Dhimi (a non-Muslim living in a Muslim state and enjoying the protection of Muslims).
Hadith Number: 6914
حدثنا قيس بن حفص، حدثنا عبد الواحد، حدثنا الحسن، حدثنا مجاهد، عن عبد الله بن عمرو، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" من قتل نفسا معاهدا لم يرح رائحة الجنة، وإن ريحها ليوجد من مسيرة اربعين عاما".
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: The Prophet said, "Whoever killed a Mu'ahid (a person who is granted the pledge of protection by the Muslims) shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise though its fragrance can be smelt at a distance of forty years (of traveling).

Hadith Number: 3166
حدثنا قيس بن حفص، حدثنا عبد الواحد، حدثنا الحسن بن عمرو، حدثنا مجاهد، عن عبد الله بن عمرو رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" من قتل معاهدا لم يرح رائحة الجنة، وإن ريحها توجد من مسيرة اربعين عاما".
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: The Prophet said, "Whoever killed a person having a treaty with the Muslims, shall not smell the smell of Paradise though its smell is perceived from a distance of forty years."
