باب استحباب ركعتي سنة الفجر والحث عليهما وتخفيفهما والمحافظة عليهما وبيان ما يستحب ان يقرا فيهما:
Chapter: It is recommended to pray two rak`ah for the sunnah of Fajr. And encouragement to pray them regularly, and to make them brief, and to persist in offering them, and clarifying what is recommended to recite therein

حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى ، قال: قرات على مالك ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان حفصة ام المؤمنين اخبرته، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، " كان إذا سكت المؤذن من الاذان لصلاة الصبح، وبدا الصبح، ركع ركعتين خفيفتين، قبل ان تقام الصلاة ".
Ibn 'Umar reported that Hafsa, the Mother of the Believers, informed him that when the Mu'adhdhin became silent after calling (people) to the dawn prayer, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) commenced the dawn (prayer) when it dawned by observing two short rak'ahs before the commencement of the (Fard) prayer.

وحدثنا يحيى بن يحيى ، وقتيبة ، وابن رمح ، عن الليث بن سعد . ح. وحدثني زهير بن حرب ، وعبيد الله بن سعيد ، قالا: حدثنا يحيى ، عن عبيد الله . ح، وحدثني زهير بن حرب ، حدثنا إسماعيل ، عن ايوب كلهم، عن نافع ، بهذا الإسناد، كما قال مالك.
This hadith has been transmitted by Nafi' with the same chain of narrators.

وحدثني احمد بن عبد الله بن الحكم ، حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن زيد بن محمد ، قال: سمعت نافعا يحدث، عن ابن عمر ، عن حفصة ، قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، " إذا طلع الفجر، لا يصلي إلا ركعتين خفيفتين ".
Hafsa reported that when it was dawn, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) did not observe (any other prayers) but two short rak'ahs.

حدثنا محمد بن عباد ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن عمرو ، عن الزهري ، عن سالم ، عن ابيه ، اخبرتني حفصة ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، " كان إذا اضاء له الفجر، صلى ركعتين ".
Hafsa reported: When the dawn appeared, the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) observed two rak'ahs (of Sunnah prayers).
