The Book of Faith
باب بيان غلظ تحريم إسبال الإزار والمن بالعطية وتنفيق السلعة بالحلف وبيان الثلاثة الذين لا يكلمهم الله يوم القيامة ولا ينظر إليهم ولا يزكيهم ولهم عذاب اليم:
Chapter: Clarifying the emphatic prohibition of letting one's garment hang below the ankles (isbal), reminding others of one's gift and selling goods by means of a false oath; Mention of the three to whom Allah, Most High, will not speak on the day of resurrection, nor look at them, nor sanctify them, and theirs will be a painful torment

وحدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، وابو كريب ، قالا: حدثنا ابو معاوية ، عن الاعمش ، عن ابي صالح ، عن ابي هريرة ، وهذا حديث ابي بكر، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ثلاث لا يكلمهم الله يوم القيامة، ولا ينظر إليهم، ولا يزكيهم ولهم عذاب اليم، رجل على فضل ماء بالفلاة يمنعه من ابن السبيل، ورجل بايع رجلا بسلعة بعد العصر، فحلف له بالله لاخذها بكذا وكذا، فصدقه وهو على غير ذلك، ورجل بايع إماما، لا يبايعه إلا لدنيا، فإن اعطاه منها، وفى وإن لم يعطه منها لم يف ".
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated on the authority of Abu Bakr (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: Three are the persons with whom Allah would neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor would He look towards them, nor would purify them (from sins), and there would be a tormenting chastisement for them: a person who in the waterless desert has more water (than his need) and he refuses to give it to the traveller and a person who sold a commodity to another person in the afternoon and took an oath of Allah that he had bought it at such and such price and he (the buyer) accepted it to be true though it was not a fact, and a person who pledged allegiance to the Imam but for the sake of the world (material gains). And if the Imam bestowed on him (something) out of that (worldly riches) he stood by his allegiance and if he did not give him, he did not fulfil the allegiance.

وحدثني زهير بن حرب ، حدثنا جرير . ح وحدثنا سعيد بن عمرو الاشعثي ، اخبرنا عبثر كلاهما، عن الاعمش ، بهذا الإسناد مثله، غير ان في حديث جرير: ورجل ساوم رجلا بسلعة.
The same hadith has been transmitted by another chain of transmitters with the exception of these words: He offered for sale a commodity to another person.

وحدثني عمرو الناقد ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن عمرو ، عن ابي صالح ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: اراه مرفوعا، قال: " ثلاثة لا يكلمهم الله ولا ينظر إليهم، ولهم عذاب اليم، رجل حلف على يمين بعد صلاة العصر، على مال مسلم فاقتطعه، وباقي حديثه نحو حديث الاعمش.
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that he (the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم )) observed: Three are the persons with whom Allah would neither speak (on the Day of Resurrection) nor would He look at them, and there would be a painful chastisement for them, a person who took an oath on the goods of a Muslim in the afternoon and then broke it. The rest of the hadith is the same as narrated by A'mash.
