Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: A woman should not set out on three (days' journey) except when she has a Mahram with her.

This hadith has been narrated on the same authority by Ubaidullah. And in the narration of Abu Bakr (RA) (the words are): "More than three (days)." Ibn Numair narrated on the authority of his father, (and the words are): "Three (days) except (when) she has a Mahram with her."

'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA) (Allah -be pleased with them) reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Hereafter to travel for more than three nights journey except when there is a Mahram with her.
