The Book of Marriage
باب تحريم الخطبة على خطبة اخيه حتى ياذن او يترك:
Chapter: The prohibition of proposing marriage when one's brother has already proposed, unless he gives permission or gives up the idea

وحدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد ، حدثنا ليث. ح وحدثنا ابن رمح ، اخبرنا الليث ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " لا يبع بعضكم على بيع بعض، ولا يخطب بعضكم على خطبة بعض ".
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as having said this: None amongst you should outbid another in a transaction, nor should he make proposals of marriage upon the proposal made by someone else.

وحدثني زهير بن حرب ، ومحمد بن المثنى ، جميعا عن يحيى القطان ، قال زهير: حدثنا يحيى، عن عبيد الله ، اخبرني نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " لا يبع الرجل على بيع اخيه، ولا يخطب على خطبة اخيه، إلا ان ياذن له "،
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as having said this: A person should not enter into a transaction when his brother (had already entered into but not finalised), and he should not make proposal of marriage upon the proposal already made by his brother, until he permits it.

حدثنا يحيي بن يحيي ، قال: قرات على مالك ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " لا يبع بعضكم على بيع بعض ".
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as having said this: One amongst you should not enter into a transaction when another is bargaining.

Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: A person should not enter into a transaction when his brother is already making a transaction and he should not make a proposal of marriage when his brother has already made a proposal except when lie gives permission.
