Biography:
Imam al-Nasa’i
Biography
Homeland:
Birth and Origin
He was born in the renowned city of Nasa in the region of Khorasan, which is pronounced with a fathah on the letters "noon" and "seen," and a kasrah on the hamzah with a prolonged sound. At times, Arabs would change the hamzah to a "waw" when attributing, and say "Nasawi," which is also linguistically appropriate, though the more famous usage is "Nasa’i." It should be noted, however, that Imam al-Nasa’i later settled in Egypt.
