Scholars and Students of Hadith Narrating from Imam al-Nasa’i

A large number of scholars and hadith transmitters acquired knowledge from Imam al-Nasa’i and narrated hadiths from him. Regarding them, Hafiz Ibn Hajar states that they are innumerable. [Tahdhib al-Tahdhib]

Imam al-Nasa’i was renowned for his leadership in religious sciences and was an advanced Shaykh al-Hadith. Students would flock to him not only to benefit from his knowledge and expertise but also to acquire a higher chain of narration (isnad), since he had narrated hadiths from Qutaybah ibn Sa‘id and others of his generation. By the end of the 3rd century and the beginning of the 4th century AH, no other narrator remained with such a high chain except Imam al-Nasa’i. This is why narrators were especially eager to receive hadiths from him. The list of his renowned student narrators is as follows.
