Narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts for one day while striving in the path of Allah, Allah will distance him from Hell by a distance of seventy years." 1. ‘Urwah bin Zubair and Sulaiman bin Yasar—one of them said "seventy years" and the other said "forty years." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1 - This hadith is gharib through this chain,
2 - The narrator Abu Al-Aswad's name is Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman bin Nawfal Al-Asadi Al-Madani,
3 - In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Abu Sa‘id, Anas, ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir, and Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with them).

Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If a person fasts for even one day in the path of Jihad, that day will keep the fire of Hell seventy years' distance away from his face." Imam Tirmidhi says:
This hadith is Hasan Sahih.

Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts for one day while in jihad, Allah Almighty will place between him and the Fire a trench like the distance between the earth and the sky." This hadith is gharib through the narration of Abu Umamah.
