Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The food of two people is sufficient for three, and the food of three people is sufficient for four." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan Sahih,
2- It is narrated from Jabir and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The food of one person will suffice for two people, the food of two people will suffice for four people, and the food of four people will suffice for eight people,"
3- In this chapter, ahadith have also been narrated from Jabir and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them).

With this chain, a similar hadith is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him).
