Chapter: Dislike of Drinking from Gold and Silver Vessels
Hadith Number: 1878
Ibn Abi Laila narrates that Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked a man for water, so he gave him water in a silver vessel. He threw the water in his face and said: I had forbidden him from this, yet he refused to refrain. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade drinking water from gold and silver vessels, and from wearing silk and brocade, and said: "This is for them (the disbelievers) in this world, and for you in the Hereafter." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan Sahih,
2- In this chapter, ahadith have also been narrated from Umm Salamah, Bara’, and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them).
