بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي صِفَةِ إِدَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Chapter: What has been reported concerning the condiment of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
The Prophet liked foreleg (shank) meat
Hadith Number: 167
حدثنا محمد بن بشار قال: حدثنا ابو داود، عن زهير يعني ابن محمد، عن ابي إسحاق، عن سعد بن عياض، عن ابن مسعود قال: «كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يعجبه الذراع» قال: «وسم في الذراع، وكان يرى ان اليهود سموه»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) liked the shank (meat from the lower leg) very much. He said that it was in the shank that poison was mixed and given to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) believed that it was the Jews who gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the poison.
