Hadith Number: 985
وعن ابي هريرة رضي الله تعالى عنه قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فقال: يا رسول الله عندي دينار؟ قال: «انفقه على نفسك» قال: عندي آخر؟ قال: «انفقه على ولدك» قال: عندي آخر؟ قال: «انفقه على اهلك» قال: عندي آخر؟ قال: «انفقه على خادمك» قال: عندي آخر؟ قال: «انت اعلم» . اخرجه الشافعي وابو داود واللفظ له واخرجه النسائي والحاكم بتقديم الزوجة على الولد.
Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): A man came to the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and said, "I have a Dinar." He said, "Spend it on yourself." He said, "I have another." He replied, "Spend it on your children." He said, "I have another." He replied, "Spend it on your wife." He said, "I have another." He replied, "Spend it on your servant." He said, "I have another." He replied, "You know best (what to do with it)." [ash-Shafi'i and Abu Dawud reported it, and the wording is Abu Dawud's. an-Nasa'i and al-Hakim reported it with the wife preceding the children] .
Hadith Number: 986
وعن بهز بن حكيم عن ابيه عن جده رضي الله عنهم قال: قلت: يا رسول الله من ابر؟ قال: «امك» قلت: ثم من؟ قال: «امك» قلت: ثم من؟ قال: «امك» قلت: ثم من؟ قال: «اباك ثم الاقرب فالاقرب» اخرجه ابو داود والترمذي وحسنه.
Narrated Bahz bin Hakim on his father's authority from his grandfather (RA): I asked, "O Allah's Messenger, to whom should I be kind and dutiful?" He replied, "Your mother." I asked, "Who comes next?" He replied, "Your mother." I asked, "Who comes next?" He replied, "Your mother." I asked, "Who comes next?" He replied, "Your father, then your relatives in order of nearness (of relationship)." [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi reported it; the latter graded it Hasan (good)] .
