From the Book of the Two Eids
باب في الأَكْلِ قَبْلَ الْخُرُوجِ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ:
Chapter: Eating before going out on Eid
Hadith Number: 1639
اخبرنا يحيى بن حسان، حدثنا عقبة بن الاصم، حدثنا عبد الله بن بريدة، عن ابيه، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم"كان يطعم يوم الفطر قبل ان يخرج، وكان إذا كان يوم النحر، لم يطعم حتى يرجع فياكل من ذبيحته".
Abdullah bin Buraidah narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr after eating, and on Eid al-Adha he would not eat anything until he returned, and he would eat from his sacrifice.

Hadith Number: 1640
حدثنا عمرو بن عون، حدثنا هشيم، عن محمد بن إسحاق، عن حفص بن عبيد الله، عن انس، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، بنحوه.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrated a report with the same meaning from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
