باب مَنِ الْمِسْكِينُ الذي يُتَصَدَّقُ عَلَيْهِ:
Chapter: Who is Considered Needy for Charity
Hadith Number: 1654
اخبرنا هاشم بن القاسم، حدثنا شعبة، عن محمد بن زياد، قال: سمعت ابا هريرة يحدث، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه قال: "ليس المسكين الذي ترده اللقمة واللقمتان، والكسرة والكسرتان، والتمرة والتمرتان، ولكن المسكين الذي ليس له غنى يغنيه، يستحيي ان يسال الناس إلحافا، او لا يسال الناس إلحافا".
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A poor person is not the one who is given one or two morsels, or one or two pieces, or one or two dates as he goes from door to door; rather, the poor person is the one who has no wealth, but he is ashamed to ask, or he does not beg persistently from people."
